Therapeutic Parenting training programme

The therapeutic parenting training programme is an educational program designed to help foster and/or adoptive parents and caregivers of children and young people who have attachment difficulties and complex and developmental trauma who are presenting with emotional, cognitive, social, and challenging developmental and behaviours and concerns. The therapeutic parenting training programme helps foster and/or adoptive parents and caregivers to understand the causes and develop the skills necessary to support their child or young person's healing and growth.

The programme is online training, with breakout opportunities and reflective practice and other access to relevant educational materials that cover topics such as early brain development, the impact of trauma on the brain, trauma-informed parenting, attachment theory, emotional regulation, and behaviour management techniques.

The goal of a therapeutic parenting training programme is to provide foster and/or adoptive parents and caregivers the knowledge and tools necessary to create a safe and nurturing environment for their child or young person, which can help improve their overall well-being and increase their chances of success in life. The programme is offered by skilled and qualified psychological therapy professional.
